Gay San Juan: The Gay Center of the Caribbean

Welcome to Puerto Rico, where the locals are friendly, the beaches are beautiful and the nightlife is hot. San Juan is very gay friendly, with bars, clubs and restaurants scattered throughout. Condado, the tourist district, and Santurce are the more concentrated gay neighborhoods. Of course, there are plenty of upscale resorts to stay in, but there are many inexpensive gay guesthouses that offer simple accommodations in the heart of San Juan. For the active, Puerto Rico offers amazing outdoor experiences. For those looking for a good time, locals and tourists alike pour from the beach into the clubs in the evenings for a long night of dancing that usually includes salsa music. The food that San Juan's restaurants have to offer is incredible. Puerto Rico might seem like an exotic paradise, but don't forget: it is a U.S. territory so the dollar is the currency and the locals are English tolerant.
