Good times

During the day very busy but attentive to customers. Night quiet but great views. Oceania restaurant next door, upscale. Many casinos close by.

It's all about the Happy Hour

I'm currently on my third day staying at the Atlantic Beach Hotel. The hotel service has been friendly at this 2-star hotel. I chose this place because it was cheap and on the beach. And you get what you pay for. HOTEL PROS: Comfy bed, continuous (though non-adjustable) air conditioning, decent bathroom, plenty of plug outlets. HOTEL CONS: Mold spores on the bathroom ceiling & air vent, hallway noise is quite noticeable, room was very small, old hotel phone crackled during conversation with front desk, front light switch did not work, closet had only 4 hangers. OPEN-AIR BAR PROS: This full mixed-crowd, but mostly-gay bar offers Happy Hour from 5-9pm. Drink prices at that point are $3.75 (including the tax) on all mid-grade liquor drinks except for mojitos and other specialty drinks. They also offer some of the best slider sandwiches I've ever eaten (3 for $5 during Happy Hour, $8 otherwise). Excellent open air seating is pleasant, and the staff are quite friendly. Direct views of the beach, and a nice ocean breeze make this bar a MUST-go-to, even if the hotel accommodations don't quite meet anything above 2-star standards. OPEN-AIR BAR CONS: None. The bottom line: Hotel: 2 stars. Bar: 5 Stars

The Hotel is Welcoming of "Family"

I went to this hotel hoping to have a great time. I was there 2 minutes and the bartender greeted me graciously. I helped that he was cute...lol But I got a drink and sunbathed for about an hour before going down to the beach. There on the beach I met some awesome girls...and boys. The hotel served us right on the sand, we took two shots and drank the native beer Medalla. It was awesome! Speedos and "boy shorts" are a common sight here and it does not matter how you look. All in all, I loved being there and I can't wait to stay there this summer!
